Three Cups of Tea

I really enjoyed reading "Three Cups of Tea"; it's a thought provoking book. It shows how all in this life is possible if you want and if you believe in yourself you can do everything. Also, I really like the positivism and brave from Greg, he never give up on his dreams and he decided to do it despite the problems that he had. Equally important, the book shows how the love and hate are so close to each one, and there are present in every scene of the life; with love he did and could get his goals, but; on the other hand, because the hate that these countries had, a lot of people lost their life and the entire countries lost chances and opportunities; However, Greg kept going , he persevere in his goals. In conclusion, this book teaches you how to be a better person, and we spend a great time reading it.

Cats vs Dogs

I can't start without saying that I hate cats, I'm totally a dog person. I really love dogs, but cats... well, they are mysterious and weird and I feel like they save a secret from the world, died or life, sounds crazy, I know, but maybe part of this is because I believe in superstitions; however, the argument of any person who likes cats is that: "Cats are more independent and cleaner" well, it's true, about more independent but cleaner?? I don't think so. Cats hate water and they take a shower with their own saliva which has a lot of germs and specifically for women are too dangerous. Nevertheless, cats are easier to take care and they are less expressive than dogs. However,  the decision to have a dog or a cat dependent of the person; some people like just cats, some like just dogs and there are who like both. I can just talk about me and I like only dogs; I'm agreed with that dogs are tremendous but they are so cute, too, and they love you more than cats do. When I was living in Venezuela I had two pugs; oh my god, I can't explain how cute, smart and lovely they were, and they were easy to take care but obviously more complicate than take care of a cat but it's because dogs really are with you in all moments, not like cats that they don't care about you. In conclusion, dogs are the best pet ever.

Men or Women?

Actually, the society has been changing the mentality about what can the women do and what can the men do; however, some cultures, countries and people are still living in the past. That has been reflecting in many forms and especially when we talk about the jobs. For example, in Venezuela a lot of people are chauvinistic for this reason the good political Maria Corina, who was a candidate presidential, couldn't win the elections because the society is not ready to realized that a woman can take care of the country. Also, some men still think that "the woman is for the house and the man for the street" and that's exactly what they say but others don't think like that, and now the women can do and work as good as the men so the majority of the women in Venezuela can work in any places; also, the men can cook very well. finally, I just thank God that the mentality has changed, I think I could've lived in a chauvinistic society.

Arepas vs Iphones

There are a lot of obsessions, but mine is so intense; I really can't live without eat arepas, which is a kind of typical food in Venezuela. First of all, I every morning have to make arepas. It's like my habit; a morning that I don't eat arepas is because I wake up too late. Second, I've been eating arepas since I could eat something different form milk. I mean, eat arepas is necessary for my body. I feel tired and bad when I don't eat it. However, I think this is a obsession because I cant stop eating it, so it's crazy; I should stop my obsession with arepas and start eating waffles and something typical in Calgary. I can't believe that I'm living in another country and I go to Super Store to buy bread flour to make arepas. On the other hand, this's not my only obsession, I'm crazy about my phone. There's nothing more hard that feel that my phone can be lost, sounds funny; doesn't it? but it's true. Maybe it's because through it I chat with my family, but I can't live without my phone; it helps me to do everything, including my homework. For all these reasons, I think these are my two intense, stupid obsession.

Extreme or Crazy?

There are a lot of extreme sports or better known as crazy sports; However, these have their advantages and vantages. First of all, all these sports needs a lot of dedication and talent but they have risks too. I really know it because I did wakeboarding for a long time in my country and I went to competitions, so I had to practice everyday and challenged myself. Also, it's not easy, I mean, do extreme sports need you focus on the sport and no more. I remember, when I was preparing for the contest I didn't study for my high school I was just focus on win. In general, I was a good student but I don't know how, because the sport take all your time. On the other hand, the risks in extreme sports are so high. I stopped doing wakeboarding because I felled down and I broke my head with the table and I almost drown, so my mom was so scared and she got me out of the contest; I was so angry but maybe that was the best for me because now I'm studying here and I have had an amazing experience with all of you.

Incomparable security

I think Calgary is a very safe country; I don't know if I think so, because I'm from Venezuela and it's so different. First of all, every Venezuelan when is in a party, street, bar, work or wherever place are attend to anything that could happen, I mean that in my country you're almost never safe so you have to hold's attention to everything, different from Calgary that you're safe almost always. The culture in Venezuela is very rich, the people are warm, talkative and hard worker maybe it's because Venezuelans are learning how "survive" to be successful, so it's incredible but the security in a country can make big changes in the culture (to good and to bad). However, I'm so happy living in Calgary I can't believe that I can be on the c-train or bus and I can use my laptop or my phone. In Venezuela you'd better not use expensive electronics machines front of strange people because it's dangerous. On the other hand, Calgary has his scams too. For example, I've seen a lot of fraud here on internet such as "win the lottery or put your I.D account to win something" and in my country I've never seen it but they are insignificant compared to Venezuela's fraud. There's a new trend of kidnappings, now you can be kidnapped without knowing, it sounds crazy but it's real. Well, I'm just describing the most popular scams in both countries; However, they both have their advantages and disadvantages. In conclusion, if you want to live in a very calm and safe country, Calgary is the best.

Maduro for One Day

There is a day when I can change and be another person. Well, maybe, the majority of the people want to be an admirable, talent, rich person but it's not my case, I just want to be the most idiot person in the world "the president of Venezuela". The reason that I want to be Nicolas Maduro is because I can't imagine how stupid can be a person, I mean, how can a president says front all international medias swears, bad words spoken, and lies. However, I will love be Maduro for one day and know how it feels to be hated by more than six million people and loved by the same amount; that will be crazy. At the same time, I'd like feeling how is be a president of one country without have professional studies.  In reality, I just want to know which is the strategy to manipulate people just for their  economic status and make them trust in the government. On the other hand, I will use this day to find out what the government thinks to do about Venezuela and its bad economic and social situation. Also, I will know which militaries are killing students, where are the missing students, and what they do with the political prisoners, so with all this information in the next day, being Anggi, maybe, I will make a manifestation supported by militaries who are not with Maduro and finally finished with this "revolution" that is driven us to the misery. In conclusion, I will love using this day not just to change my identify if not to change my country if it's possible.
